Howard's Bar – Our favorite place in Stillwater for lunch. Bar classics done very well.

MatchStick – Located in the Crosby Hotel with patio seating, a great option for happy hour.

Domacin – A classy wine bar with Mediterranean appetizers and entrées.

Victoriano's Pizza – If you need a snack, this counter-service spot has the best slices of New York-style pizza.

Oasis Cafe – Serves food all day, but they're known for breakfast. You'll likely have to wait for a table, it's worth it!

River Siren Brewing - This is a low-key spot with craft brews, pub snacks, and a nice view from the patio.

Brown's Creek Trail - Take a stroll on this 6-mile paved trail, part of the historic Gateway Trail connecting the St. Croix River Valley to downtown St. Paul.

Stillwater Historic Trolley Tour - Learn about the birthplace of Minnesota in this 45-minute tour done in a restored trolley.

If you want to experience early fall in Minnesota and are up for a short drive, we recommend:

10 minute drive: Aamodt's Apple Farm - Pick apples, sample hard cider and hop on a wagon ride at this family-run apple orchard.

20 minute drive: Rustic Roots Winery - Follow the river north and you'll find this scenic vineyard overlooking the valley.

35 minute drive: Taylor's Falls Canoe and Kayaks - Enjoy the famous bluffs and cliffs of Taylors Falls as you meander down the river.
